Stewardship Partners Hosts Successful Green Drinks Event

Record Turnout - of bicycles!Green Drinks is a social network gathering for environmentally oriented Seattleites sponsored by a different organization each month. Stewardship Partners hosted May's Green Drinks in partnership with Conscious Choice magazine. The event was held at Evo, a locally owned snowboard/skiing gear and clothing company located in the Fremont neighborhood. A record 600 people turned up.

Local BountyThe event featured food from local Salmon-Safe farms Full Circle Farm, Wilcox Farm, Snoqualmie River Ranch, and Bellewood Acres as well as smoked salmon from Seabear Seafood, baked tofu from Small Planet Tofu, bread from Essential Baking Company, and chocolate from Theo Chocolate. PCC Natural Markets also provided generous party trays. Several Washington and Oregon Salmon-Safe wines were featured and beer from Sierra Nevada and Fish Tales Ale was plentiful. Herban Feast Catering did an excellent job preparing and presented all of the food.

Social LibationsThe informal get together provided an opportunity for those working in the environmental field to socialize, network, and explore collaborative opportunities to build a more sustainable society. Once the networking ended, local band, Tilted Blue, gave a live performance.

Evo's Bryce Phillips was pleased with the turnout, "From what I've heard time and again, this was the best Green Drinks ever for a number of reasons. The food was great, the attendance was all time and it lasted longer than usual so people could stay and enjoy themselves and they really loved the space."

Thank you to Tilted Blue for the live performance and to all of the local farms and businesses that donated food and drink. A special thanks to Herban Feast for helping us share and present the bounty available from our local Salmon-Safe farms and other local sustainably minded food purveyors.
