Sarah (Seb) Barnett Restoring the habitat by day and artist by night!
I was born and raised in the pacific northwest and can't imagine living anywhere else. It's great
helping others live in harmony with our eco system, and being outside so much fuels my love of this
land and informs my art. www.brushandpen.net

Sarah Klages Sarah grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving to Seattle to attend the University of Washington in 2003. While at the University, Sarah studied both History and Political Science with an emphasis on Communist and Post-Communist societies. Sarah's interest in political issues regarding the environment developed from her participation in various organizations such as the Washington Trails Association and WashPIRG. After graduating, with Honors, from the UW in June of 2007 Sarah immediately set off to further explore environmental issues throughout the world. This eventually landed her in New Zealand where she spent the summer as a volunteer in the Kuaka Conservation Program. Upon returning to the States, Sarah's desire to continue her education and involvement in environmental conservation led her to the Washington Conservation Corps where she now thoroughly enjoys her work as a crew member.

Dan Lauzon Dan was born and raised in Snohomish, Washington. Committed to learning as much as he
can, his educated insights often amuse and occasionally annoy. He plans to enter college upon completion of the
program. Prior to his joining the WCC, he worked on a salmon processing ship in Alaska, and before that did trail
work for Northwest Youth Corps. He enjoys hard work and the outdoors, as well as new information to
pack into his head. His childlike fascination with the world betrays the fact that he is the youngest member of the crew.

Matthew Wallrath Matthew, Wally for short, has made his way to Washington from Milwaukee, WI. Saving the Earth has been on his agenda every since he was 4, when he attended Hawley Road Environmental Specialty School, and went on to be a 3rd generation University of Wisconsin - Madison alum with a degree in Biology (conferred with distinction). After taking some time to work on the sea, he has been with the WCC for almost 2 years and takes an active interest in conservation both on stream banks and in the wider world. He enjoys spreading the word about sustainably-harvested (FSC certified) wood. He currently resides in a small housing co-operative in Wallingford. A love of music has led him to play tuba, guitar, and non-profit radio KEXP while in the truck cruising around between some of the most beautiful places to work in the world.
