Salmon-Safe Farm Certification Program

Salmon-SafeAs part of our effort at promoting incentive-based approaches to conservation, Stewardship Partners has launched a Salmon-Safe certification and eco-label program for farmers throughout the Puget Sound and western Washington region who adopt fish-friendly conservation practices and participate in salmon habitat restoration.

Nisqually Glacier to Sound Stewardship Corridor

The Nisqually Watershed is one of the most pristine watersheds in Puget Sound and has been recognized across the country as a model for collaborative conservation. The corridor program is linking private landowner stewardship with community and watershed planning efforts. We are creating a suite of incentives for landowners to adopt stewardship practices in agricultural, forestry, and land development, as well as the tourist and hospitality industry.

Rain Gardens in the Pacific Northwest

Rain GardensRain gardens work like a native forest by capturing and infiltrating stormwater from rooftops, driveways, and other hard surfaces. Rain gardens — reduce flooding by absorbing water from impervious surfaces; filter oil, grease and toxic materials before they can pollute streams, lakes and bays; help to recharge the aquifer by increasing the quantity of water that soaks into the ground; provide beneficial wildlife habitat.

Our Programs
 
Oxbow Organic Farm, Carnation, WA

Oxbow Farm highlights some of the successful and affordable conservation work we've done with landowners of the Snoqualmie Valley. The banks of the Snoqualmie River, which wind through the farm in a classic "oxbow," have been strengthened and buffered against erosion from seasonal floods with significant plantings of native vegetation.
